Students, staff, and faculty of Holy Cross School in South Portland gathered in the school yard for a special ceremony to honor veterans on Nov. 10. New Holy Cross and American flags were raised high during the ceremony with the assistance of two veterans connected to the school. “Ryan Koroknay is the dad of two of our students and a Coast Guard member, and Scott Walker, our gym teacher, is a Marine,” said teacher Nicole Gaetani. “We are so grateful that these two veterans led the ceremony. It was an honor to have them. Thank you to all veterans for their dedication, sacrifice, and service to our country.”
