She and her best friend, Dee Dee, never met face to face but were pen pals for 43 years and she knew Dee Dee better than her own family. In her most recent years she has enjoyed her special Sunday playdates with her youngest granddaughter Lacie, and also enjoyed the visits with her great grandson Owen.

Ellen is survived by her husband Paul Record, daughter Melanie Scot of Augusta, daughter Melissa Walker and husband Duane of Sabattus, and son James Record of Poland, as well as her nine grandchildren Tiffany, Sara, Jeremiah, Zachary, Jacob, Meghan, Joseph, Alex and Lacie, and her great grandson Owen.
