Mary-Ann Taylor, 83, a resident of Kennebunk, formerly of Old Town, passed away Monday evening, Feb. 20, 2023, at home with her loving family at her side following a long illness.

Mary-Ann was born Jan. 3, 1940, in Old Town, the daughter of Alvin “Jack” and Gladys (Dow) Strout, and is a graduate of Old Town High School.

She was employed by ADCO Surgical Supply Company in Bangor, where she worked her way up to the company’s purchasing agent. Leaving there, she joined the University of Maine, Orono, where she worked as the facilities purchasing agent for 20 years, before needing to leave a position she enjoyed, to care for her mother.

An active member of her faith community, she was an active member of St. Joseph’s Church in Old Town, and Holy Spirit Parish St. Mary’s Church and, more recently, St. Martha’s Church, serving in many capacities, including Eucharistic Minister.

Family was most important to Mary-Ann, who fostered close relationships with all of her family, spending time playing cribbage together, spending winters in Florida where family would travel to visit, walking the Marginal Way and sharing a lunch together at the beach.

Survivors include her loving husband of 63 years, James A. Taylor of Kennebunk, her children Colleen (Taylor) Boyle and favorite son-in-law Michael of Wells, Keith A. Taylor of Biddeford, six grandchildren, Taylor Boyle of the Netherlands, Hayley and Reilly Boyle, both of Wells, Gabriella, Hannah and Grace Taylor, all of Bangor, and a wide circle of extended family.
