Pauline T. Hinman

CAPE ELIZABETH – Pauline T. Hinman died Thursday, Feb. 23, 2023, in Cape Elizabeth. Born Aug. 31, 1943, she was 79 years old.

She was predeceased by her parents Carl Tetzlaff, Sr., and Margaret Dailey Tetzlaff.

Pauline married James D. Hinman in 1965 and later divorced .

Pauline lost her life partner John E. Hayes on Nov. 14, 1996. He was the love of her life and an indelible part of the family.

She is survived by her two sons, Stephen and Jay, daughter, Lee Kistner; and brother, Carl.

Pauline attended school in Wakefield, Mass. and then later went to high school at Fryeburg Academy where she buried the bell!

Pauline then went on to Westbrook College to earn her associate degree and later became one of the original principles of art in the park in South Portland.

Pauline loved her time at McDonald’s corporation doing public relations and later in life started selling real estate.

Reading by the water was her favorite pastime and she could often be found there. Pauline was always quick with a colorful joke and made people smile easily. She loved spending time with grandchildren, Rushell, Avalon, Pepper and James and will be missed.
