Rose McDonald

SCARBOROUGH – Rose McDonald gained her eternal angel wings when she passed away peacefully at home in Scarborough on March 17, 2023.

Rose attended Sacred Heart School and graduated from Portland High School in 1969.

Rose spent over 20 years working in the insurance industry and retired, due to illness, from Pine Point Nursing Home, after 16 years where she was an administrative assistant. She never missed a day of work and was highly regarded by staff and patients.

Rose loved the ocean, cooking, planting flowers in the spring, and keeping her friends and family entertained with her great sense of humor and fun. Nearly everyone that knew Rose had a funny “Rose” story.

Rose was predeceased by her infant daughter, April Dawn; her mother, Anna Mathews; and brother, Orville Mathews Jr.

She is survived by her life partner, Wayne McIntosh; her daughter, Heather McIntosh; her grandson, Liam Shay; her sister, Ada Mathews; her niece Lisa Menario, nephews Paul Menario and James Wynegar; and many close cousins.

A graveside service is will be held at New Calvary Cemetery, Broadway, South Portland at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 31. Arrangements are under the direction of the Conroy-Tully Walker Funeral Home, 1024 Broadway, South Portland.
