Patricia Ann (Rice) Lothrop, age 80, of Kennebunk, died on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, after a period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of Robert J. Lothrop, Sr., with whom she celebrated her 47th wedding anniversary last month. Born and raised in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late John F. and Irene E. (Gautreau) Rice. She had lived in Peabody for 20 years before moving to Kennebunk over 20 years ago.

Patricia attended St. Joseph’s Institute in Lynn and was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School, class of 1960. She also graduated from Burdett College in 1962. She had worked as a senior customer service clerk for National Grid/Mass Electric for 34 years until her retirement in 1997. Prior to that she had also worked at Kennedy’s Clothing in Lynn.

Patricia was a communicant of St. Martha’s Catholic Church in Kennebunk. She was a longtime volunteer at St. Martha’s fair, and enjoyed crafts, knitting and needlepoint. She and her husband were members of the Maine Coastal Cruisers Classic Car Club and enjoyed numerous car cruises. She also loved sitting by the ocean, watching the dogs and the occasional horse on the beach. Above all, she was a loving person who was like a mother to everyone. She will be greatly missed.

In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by her step-children; Robbin L. Rekowski of Alcoa, Tennessee, Linda J. Burton of Chelmsford, Massachusetts, and Robert J. Lothrop, Jr. and his wife Pamela of Freeport, Maine; two grandchildren; Peter Rekowski, Jr. and his wife Bailey of Solebury, Pennsylvania, and Grace Rekowski of Alcoa, Tennessee; her brother, Lawrence Rice, Sr. of Dover, New Hampshire, as well as many nieces and nephews.
