Charlotte, J. Rousseau, 87, passed away on June 4, 2023. Charlotte was born on Jan. 6, 1936 in Biddeford, to Gerard and Bernadette (Tremblay) Larose. She was educated at St. Joseph School and graduated in the class of 1955.

On June 1, 1957 she married Romeo A. Rousseau who died on March 4, 1980.

Mrs. Rousseau worked at Saco and Biddeford Savings Institution, Pepperell Trust Company, Rich’s Department Store, W.T. Grants, Nichols Department Store, St. Andre Health Care Facilities and Biddeford School Food Program. An active member of St. Joseph Church, Charlotte served as a eucharistic minister and altar server.

In addition, she volunteered as a server at funeral luncheons, the food pantry for Most Holy Trinity, monthly suppers for St. Joseph Church and she was a volunteer at SMMC. She was president of the Fremont Club Auxiliary in 1985.

Among her interests, she enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren, traveling, reading, crafts, knitting, playing cards and taking care of her flower gardens.

Charlotte is survived by her two sons: Gary Rousseau and his wife Arline of Portland, and Gregory Rousseau of Scottsdale, Arizona. Her three daughters: Gail S. Rousseau, of Arundel, Gisele Dube and husband Bertin of Arundel, and Michelle Pingree and her husband Kenneth of Saco.

She is also survived by six grandchildren: Emily Dube, Leonard Dube, Daniel Tanquay and partner Kaylie Lachance, Micaela Tanguay, Evan Hevey and partner Grace Hansen, Jace Rousseau and fiancé Jessica Laverriere; a cherished niece, Diane Gagnon and her family of Manchester, New Hampshire; Sister-in-law Juliette Landry and husband Paul of Lewiston, as well as, many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Services will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are by Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford, ME 04005.

The family would like to thank Gosnell Memorial Hospice House and the Inn at Atlantic Heights for their care and compassion to Charlotte and her family.
