Ronald Desmarais, 83, died at his home Monday, June 12, 2023, after a short illness, surrounded in love by his wife Muriel, daughter Diane, and granddaughter Nicole.

He was born on Aug. 24, 1939, the son of Leo Paul and Florence (Miclette) Desmarais, he was raised in Biddeford, where he attended St. Louis High School, after which he enlisted in the United States Air Force for four years.

He married his wife, Muriel, on Nov. 26, 1959. They were married for 63 years.

Upon his discharge from the United States Air Force in 1962, he started his career at the Naval base in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, retiring after 26 years of employment.

As a younger adult, Ronald played the drums in a band, and he also enjoyed all the activities the Maine outdoors has to offer, in his free time, he often went fishing and hunting.

Those who knew and loved Ronald describe him as a kind, funny, loyal friend and neighbor who would help anyone in need.

He loved his family and fur baby Zoey, and they loved him. He will be missed and remembered always.

Ronald is lovingly survived by his wife Muriel, daughter Diane and granddaughter Nicole.

He is predeceased by his parents and brother, Leo Paul Jr.

Burial will occur on Thursday, June 22, 2023, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Cemetery, West Street, Biddeford.
