Meet some of Maine’s premier distillers at the Sebago Spirits Festival Saturday, Sept. 16, at Dundee Park.

Sample and buy some spirits and bring drink recipes home. The festival, hosted by the Sebago Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce, will be from 1 to 4 p.m. and includes food trucks and games, along with live music from Ragged Jack.

Tickets are $40 per person; $15 “no spirits tasting” tickets are also available. For more information, go to sebagospiritsfestival.com.

Preserve the garden’s bounty

Had a productive garden this summer? Learn about food preservation techniques at a discussion Wednesday, Sept. 20, at the Windham Public Library. Methods covered will include the basics of  canning, freezing and dehydrating, as well as how to store preserved foods safely and check for properly sealed jars.

The discussion takes place from 6 to 7 p.m. and can be attended in person or over Zoom. For more information, contact the Windham Public Library at 892-1908.

Craft fair, bean supper

The American Legion Auxiliary Craft Fair will be open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 23 at the Windham Veterans Center, located at 35 Memorial Drive.

Then at 5 p.m., American Legion Field Allen Post 148 at at 35 Veterans Memorial Drive will host a bean supper for the community. The meal is $10 per person and includes casseroles, potato salad and dessert. There will also be a 50/50 raffle. All proceeds will benefit the youth programs supported by the post.

Cancer support group

The Windham Cancer Support Group meets the last Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the Windham Public Library. The support group is open to anyone affected by the disease, whether a patient, a family member or a caregiver.
