Saturday concert at Music on Main

Another free concert at Music on Main will take place on Saturday, Oct. 21, from 6 to 9 p.m. in the vacant lot at 144 Main St. This concert will feature the “ultimate disco” of Motor Booty Affair and acoustic rock from Roundabout.

As usual, local vendors will offer food and beverages for sale. The concert will go on rain or shine and concertgoers should bring a chair. Pets and coolers are not allowed. Learn more at musiconmainbridgton.com.

BPL’s last book donation day

Bridgton Public Library is holding its last book donation day of the year from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, at the book shed in the library parking lot. The public is encouraged to donate gently used books to be sold during the library’s book sales in the summer.

Books of all genres and for all ages are accepted. Proceeds from the sales go to support the library and its programs. For more information go to bridgtonlibrary.org or call 647-2472.

Rotary Club to host Polio Awareness Walk

To commemorate World Polio Day on Tuesday, Oct. 24, the Bridgton Lake-Region Rotary Club will host a short walk promoting polio awareness starting from Stella’s on the Square, 6 North High St., at 11:15 a.m. From there the walk will continue to the Queen’s Head Pub arriving just in time for lunch.

The eradication of polio has been a major focus of the Rotary Club and Rotarians have been promoting polio vaccinations across the globe for many years.

Parkinson’s support group changes

The recently-established Lake Region Parkinson’s Support Group will meet on Oct. 30 and Nov. 30, rather than its usual meeting on the fourth Thursday of the month. The group meets at 10 a.m. in the Lake Environmental Association’s Science Center on Willet Road.
