Diane F. Ricker

FALMOUTH – Diane F. Ricker was born in Portland on June 9, 1941, the only child of Kenneth E. and Dorothy (Anderson) Ricker. She died unexpectedly on Dec. 25, 2023 at her home in Falmouth.

Diane grew up on Chase Street in South Portland and attended local schools, graduating from South Portland High School in the class of 1959. Diane graduated from University of Maine (Orono) in 1963.

Diane was employed as a Med Tech for Dr. Harris Hinckley and then at Maine Medical Center. The rest of her professional life was spent working for at Sappi (S. D. Warren) in the Research Lab for about 30 years.

After retiring, she spent many years doing research on genealogy. This was a passion for her. She also enjoyed hiking, cross-country skiing and playing cards with friends.

She is survived by five first cousins John Elliot of Naples, Fla., Shirley Prout of Cape Elizabeth, Marjorie DiBiase of Cumberland, David Elliot of Windham, and Jayne Ricker Chase of Massachusetts. She is also survived by two dear, close friends, Louise Paulin of Windham and Christine Phelps of Durham.

An hour of visitation will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday Jan. 11, followed by a prayer service at 12 p.m. located at Lindquist Funeral Home, 1 Mayberry Lane, Yarmouth, ME 04096.

Interment will follow at Brooklawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers donations can be sent in her memory to the National Arthritis Foundation or Maine Foundation for the Blind.
