Richard “Dick” Roberge

GORHAM – Richard “Dick” Roberge, 88, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2024, at Gorham House, Gorham. He was born Dec. 27, 1935, in Sanford, son of the late Philadore and Florence (Jagger) Roberge.

After graduating from South Portland High School, Dick proudly served in the Air Force for four years. Upon returning back to Maine, he met the love of his life, Linda Sherman. They were married on Sept. 23, 1961, and settled in South Portland to raise their family.

Dick pursued a career in sales and worked many years for Country Kitchen/Lepage Bakeries. He successfully sought out new clients and built new routes throughout Maine and New Hampshire. He enjoyed traveling, especially to Hawaii, going to Nascar racing, golfing and was a fan of all New England sports teams. He had a passion for building model schooner ships which he spent hours working on and took months to complete. Most of all, Dick treasured spending time with his family. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

He is predeceased by his parents, and brothers, Roger Roberge and Peter Roberge. He is survived by his son David Roberge (Grace), daughter Debra Roberge and granddaughter Haley Roberge, along with several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express its sincere gratitude to all the staff at Gorham House for their care and support.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date.

Condolences may be expressed online at http://www.hobbsfuneralhome.com.

In lieu flowers, donations can be made in Dick’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 383 U.S. Route 1, #2C, Scarborough, Maine 04074.
