Richard “Dick” McNaughton

YARMOUTH – Richard “Dick” McNaughton passed away peacefully on Feb. 2, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.

Born in White Plains, N.Y. on July 16, 1938, Dick was one of four boys raised by his parents, Marjorie and Earle McNaughton. Dick made a name for himself as the #1 tennis player in Maine for four consecutive years. He was named the Sportsman of the Decade for the 1970s and was inducted into the Maine Tennis Hall of Fame in 2019.

Dick is survived by his wife, Ginny; brother, Gary; son, David and wife Kathy and their children Connor and Julia; son, Peter and wife Amy and their children Lila and Sawyer; stepdaughter, Cindy and her children, Tommy and partner Abby, and Ryan and partner Abby and her son Lincoln; and stepson, Johnny and his son John IV.

A celebration of life will be planned this spring and we hope friends and family will join us to honor his remarkable life.
