Jacqueline Lee (Holmes) Murphy

PORTLAND – Jacqueline Lee Holmes Murphy passed away Sunday April 28, 2024 after a lengthy illness, surrounded by her family.

She was the second born to Connie and Douglas Holmes in Calais on Nov. 5, 1963. Jackie loved to cook and was good at it! The highlight of her life was spending time with her “besties” at the annual “girls’ weekends”. She enjoyed ’60s and ’70s music, dancing with friends and family, of which she had many! She loved to laugh and had a great sense of humor that was contagious. Jackie went to Bernard School of Fashion after graduating from Winthrop High School in 1982. She cooked at various restaurants and delis for many years and loved to work with the elderly.

Jackie was predeceased by her brother. Doug; her mother, Connie Look Holmes; and her precious 2-year-old son, Austin Theriault who was the absolute light of her life.

She is survived by her husband, Ben Murphy and his two daughters Megan and Emily and families from Southwest Harbor; her father, Douglas Holmes and stepmom, Susan Holmes; and her sister, Kellie Holmes Tomer. She is also survived by nephew, Gabriel Tomer from Rockwood; and a very large extended family. Jackie will be deeply missed by all who loved her. “Quo” will forever be our bright shining star!

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
