Patrick J. Marshall

PORTLAND – Patrick J. Marshall, 65, passed away on May 19, 2024, in Portland with his family by his side.

Patrick was born on Jan. 23, 1959, in Baltimore, Md., son of the late William B. and Katherine (Crozier) Marshall.

Patrick dedicated about 30 years of his career as an Accountant to Hannaford’s Finance Department. He felt good about working for this company and took pride in the role he played there, forging lifelong friendships over his tenure.

In recent years, Patrick volunteered at the Good Shepherd Food Bank in their Finance Department a few days a week. He wanted to give back to the community and truly believed in their mission of eliminating hunger in Maine through community partnerships.

While Patrick was family-oriented, he also valued his alone time. His biggest passion in life was golf, which began at the age of 10 when he started caddying with his brother, Phil. This became a lifelong joy through which he found community and many friends and many good rounds. Patrick embarked on many golf-oriented trips to Ireland, Scotland, and Bermuda, and he served as Treasurer of the Portland Country Club for many years. He also enjoyed reading, especially about World War II.

Patrick will be deeply missed by his family and friends, who will always remember his dedication, loyalty, generosity, and humor.

Patrick is survived by his brother, Philip and his wife Deborah Marshall, sister, Deborah and her husband Jason Silberstein; nephews Sam and Matt Silberstein; and many beloved cousins and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the exceptional team at Maine Medical Center who provided wonderful care for Patrick in his final days.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on May 31 at St. Pius X Church, 492 Ocean Ave., Portland. A private burial will follow at Old Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Conroy-Tully Walker Funeral Home, 172 State St., Portland. To view Pat’s memorial page or leave a condolence, please visit http://www.ConroyTullyWalker.com.
