Janet Albert

WESTBROOK – Janet Albert, a lifelong resident of Westbrook, passed away peacefully at the Barron Center on May 16, 2024, with her youngest child, Mary Ann, holding her hand.

Janet was born in Westbrook on May 21, 1928, the daughter of John and Marion (Lepenven) Rondeau. She graduated from Westbrook High School, class of 1946, and then became employed as a secretary at the S.D. Warren Company until she began her family.

Janet married Roland Albert in 1950 and went on to become a mother of five children. She was very active in her children’s lives and greatly enjoyed time with family and friends. She was an avid golfer, tennis player, bowler, and enjoyed playing card games of all sorts. She also loved playing the piano and doing artwork.

Janet was predeceased by her husband, Roland; her parents; and her four brothers, Robert, Roland, Eugene and Philip Rondeau; and great-grandson, Jonathan P. Vaillancourt.

She is survived by her children, Nancy Tarpinian and husband Michael, Paul Albert, Peter Albert and wife Catherine, Rebecca Albert and Mary Ann Albert; her grandchildren, Peter Albert, Joseph Albert, Charles Albert, Annie Albert, Jana Tarpinian and Rebecca Tarpinian, their spouses Amy Albert, Joshua Wood and Frayla Tarpinian; as well as her great-grandchildren Colin, Olivia, Jack, Lily, Jonathan A., Joshua, August, Tucker, Ella and Josephine; her step-grandson, Devon Berman, his wife Jordan and their children Enid and Sybil; her sisters-in-law Anita Rondeau and Pauline Siulinski; and loving friend, Jeanne Denbow.

The Albert Family would like to very sincerely thank the staff of the Barron Center for their compassionate, kind, loving care of Janet for over four years. She couldn’t have been in better hands.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 17 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., with a memorial service to follow at 11 a.m., at Dolby, Blais and Segee Westbrook Chapel, 35 Church St., Westbrook.
