Chickadee quilt show
The Chickadee Quilters will present their 43rd annual quilt show at Stevens Brook Elementary School on Saturday, July 13, and Sunday, July 14. The show will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days and admission is $10.
Proceeds from the show benefit Bridgton Community Center activities, the local food pantry, Christmas for Kids programs in the area, and comfort quilts for families experiencing loss and hardship.
Annual Mystery Tour
Bridgton Buildings and Blooms is the theme of this year’s Mystery Tour, sponsored by the Rufus Porter Museum of Art and Ingenuity, on Saturday, July 13, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The self-guided tour allows ticket holders exclusive access to four private homes and four gardens otherwise not open to the public. The locations of these places are kept a mystery until the day of the event when maps to the venues are given out. Funds raised from the tours help support the RPM and its community programs. Historical society events
The Bridgton Historical Society will hold a nature walk at the Narramissic Farm and Peabody Fitch Woods on Friday, July 19, at 9 a.m. Tours of the historic farmhouse run on Fridays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
A blueberry pancake breakfast is also scheduled for July 27 from 9 to 11 a.m. The meal is $8 per person. There will be a raffle drawing for a bag of items and gift cards from local businesses. Tickets are $5 each, five for $20, available at the BHS Firehouse Museum. Winners do not need to attend the pancake breakfast.

Library book sale
Browse through hundreds of gently used books at the annual Friends of the Bridgton Public Library’s Big Summer Book Sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 20 (rain date July 21) at the library parking lot on 1 Church St.
There will be children’s books, fiction, history, science, mystery, art, cookbooks, self-help and more. Most books are priced at $2 each and buyers can fill a whole bag with books for $5 from 1:30 to 2 p.m.

Dog wash fundraiser
Dog owners can pamper their pooch at a dog washing “spa session” that supports the Lakes Region Recovery Center. The event takes place on from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 27 at the recovery center at 2 Elm St.
The cost is $15 for small and medium dogs and $25 for large dogs. Owners can also have a picture taken for $10.
