FREEPORT – Julie Ann Dunning of Freeport died on July 4, 2024, after a brief period of declining health. She was born on Jan. 13, 1957, to Beverly J. and Emerson F. Dunning.

Julie had the biggest heart and was devoted to her parents, taking care of each of them as they aged in place. Following the death of her parents her Aunt Thelma Dunning was also the recipient of her care and attention. Her working career was at LL Bean for many years.

Julie was known to be a private person who was kind, generous and mischievous. Julie loved her friends and her dogs deeply. Her memories of the Caribbean Islands were precious to her and her friends. She is going to be deeply missed but we know that she is chilling out with Jimmy Buffet and her dear friends Janet and Gilda.

A special thank you to the staff at the Gosnell Hospice House in Scarborough for the extraordinary care she received in her last days.

A brief graveside ceremony will take place on July 15, 2024 at 2 p.m. at Burr cemetery in Freeport.
