James “Jim” Royles

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – James “Jim” Royles, 74, of Collegeville, Pa., passed away on July 6, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. A mass will be held for Jim at 9 a.m., on Tuesday, August 6, at St. Pius X Church, with burial to follow at Brooklawn Memorial Park. Jim was born in 1950 in Portland, Maine to Thomas and Irene Royles. He attended South Portland High School, where he was a state champion tennis player. After graduating from The University of Maine with a Bachelor of Science in 1972, Jim embarked on a successful career at The Hartford Insurance Company, where he worked until he retired in 2002. He married his high school sweetheart, Susan DiDonato, in 1973. They lived for many years in Simsbury, Connecticut, where they raised two children. Jim was predeceased by his parents and brother Thomas Royles. He is survived by his wife Susan Royles; daughter Elizabeth Royles Parker; son Matthew Royles and daughter-in-law Aimee Royles; three grandchildren, Walter, Caroline, and James Parker; sister-in-law Jacqueline Royles; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Thomas and Michelle DiDonato; and several nieces and nephews.
