Evan William Briggs
WEST BATH – Evan William Briggs, 7, died suddenly on Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2024, while doing what he loved, playing sports.
Evan was the oldest son of Nathan and Stephanie Briggs of West Bath, born at Maine Med on Nov. 15, 2016. Despite his young age, he and his family traveled to at least 10 different countries where he entertained those in his circle along the way. With a vivid imagination and love of a good joke, Evan always had a smile and a laugh to share with those around him. Any day spent playing with friends was a good day for Evan and he invited anyone to join in his fun.
Through the years, Evan played on a variety of sports teams, many coached by his dad. Together they played lacrosse, basketball, baseball, and soccer where he scored his first goal three days prior to his passing; he was so proud.
When not on the playing fields, or throwing a football with dad, playing Pokémon or video games, at which he was quite clever. He joined many dance competitions on his travels and won a few with his signature robot move.
At home, Evan was an active member of the family activities. At a young age, he learned to play a key role in the decorating of the house for the holidays which “earned” him some ice cream, was a talented artist to adorn the walls, a thoughtful gift giver, and a loving, patient and protective older brother.
Evan is survived by his parents; and brother, Alex of West Bath; as well as his grandparents; and many aunts and uncles.
A celebration of Evan’s life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12, at the West Bath School Gymnasium.
