The Windham High School Robotics Teams attended the International Signature Robotics Event in Orono from Sept. 12 to Sept. 14 and three students earned a prize. Senior Ches Lamonte, Junior Maddy Cook and Junior Brody Lewis won and brought home the Energy Award in the competition.

History of Maine
Correctional Center

The Windham Historical Society’s final program of the year will feature a talk by Brad Fogg who was employed by the Maine Correctional Center for many years. He will discuss the facility’s history on Oc. 7 at 7 p.m. at the Little Meetinghouse, 719 Roosevelt Trail in North Windham. The event is free. Refreshments will be served. Donations welcome.

Bound for Boston
with Rec. Dept.

Join the Windham Parks & Recreation Department for a trip to Boston that will take participants from land to sea. First, enjoy a Boston Duck Tour that will take you through the streets and around the banks of the Charles River. From there, it’s off to the Mary Baker Eddy Library followed by lunch at the world-famous Quincy Market. Then board the train and head home. It all takes place on Oct. 5 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. The cost is $175 per person. Call Windham Parks & Rec at 892-1905 for more details.

Paint a pumpkin,
win a prize

Bring a decorated pumpkin to the Windham Historical Society’s Fall Harvest Festival on Sept. 28 from 10 to 3. It will be entered into a pumpkin-decorating contest being organized by the Windham Parks & Recreation Department. Prizes will be given for Most Creative, Funniest, Scariest and Best in Show. All that’s needed to enter is show up with a pumpkin and then enjoy the event’s festivities while there.
