Judith Ann Lachiatto, 85, of Kennebunkport, peacefully passed away on Sunday, Sept. 29, 2024, at St. Andre Health Care in Biddeford, following a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease several years prior.

Born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, to John Wells and Irma Jean (Dunakin) Wells, Judith graduated from Bristol High School in 1956 and earned her nursing degree from the Concord New Hampshire School of Nursing in 1960.
Her nursing career spanned various disciplines, including general nursing at Deaconess Hospital in Boston, emergency room nursing at Franklin Regional Hospital, and visiting nursing with the Franklin VNA. For the last decade of her career, she served as the school nurse for the Franklin New Hampshire School District.
Judith married Alexander M. Lachiatto on Jan. 21, 1961.
An active community member, Judith volunteered with several local organizations, served a 10-year term on the Franklin School Board, and was a long-time election official for the city of Franklin. She was passionate about reading, adored dogs, and was known for her baking and cooking skills.
Holidays were special to her, as she loved decorating inside and out. Judith could often be found cheering on her children at their numerous athletic events.
She is survived by her husband, Alexander, and her children: Lisa A. Nelson of Kennebunkport, Wendy L. DiModica and her husband Michael of Sudbury, Massachusetts, A. Thomas Lachiatto of Saco, and Todd M. Lachiatto and his wife Carina Cullivan of Southborough, Massachusetts.
Judith also cherished time spent with her six grandchildren: Gillian Nelson, Christian Nelson, Isabella DiModica, Carter Lachiatto, Trevor Lachiatto, and Jax Lachiatto.
A private family service will be held in her honor. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Animal Welfare Society in Kennebunk.
