SOUTH PORTLAND – Susanne “Sue” Conti, 58, passed away on Oct. 7, 2024, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice, surrounded by her loving family.
Sue was born on Feb. 25, 1966, in Portland, to Adrienne Beatrice (Trueman) Frank and the late Stanley Frederick Frank, Sr. Sue graduated from South Portland High School in 1984 and later attended Andover College, earning an associate degree in 1986.
In 1992, Sue married the love of her life, Mark Paul Conti, at Holy Cross Church. Sue was a devoted mother and a true matriarch. Her love for children and family led her to open her home-based daycare, “Comforts of Home.” Sue’s love for the ocean extended to family trips to Ferry Beach, where they would enjoy picnics and sunsets together.
She adored nature, camping and had an incredible green thumb. She kept her bird feeders filled, particularly for cardinals, which she represented her late father, Stanley.
Sue loved her Sundays with her family gathering at Shawn’s pool as well as Scott’s house to watch football. She was always known to have a Bud Light in her hand during those times. Christmas was especially meaningful and her kids had the best celebrations. All yearly holidays were celebrated and her house was always fully decorated.
She grew up devout in her Catholic faith, attending Holy Cross Church, and raised her family in the same faith, honoring traditions that meant so much to her.
She was predeceased by her father, Stanley Frank, Sr.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Mark Paul Conti of South Portland; her loving mother, Adrienne Beatrice Frank of South Portland; her children, Nicholas Conti and his wife Brianna of South Portland, Olivia Conti and her husband Thomas of Cape Elizabeth, Benjamin Conti and his wife Samantha of Scarborough, and Josef Conti and his partner Heather Matthews of Scarborough. She is also survived by her cherished grandson, Noah; her six brothers, Stanley Jr. and partner Jane, Stephen and wife Deborah, Scott and wife Stacy, Shawn and wife Marcia, Stacy and wife Alice, and Seth and wife Jocelyn; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Sue’s family extends their gratitude to Gosnell Memorial Hospice and the caregivers who provided her with comfort and love in her final days. A special thank you to her sisters-in-law Stacy and Alice, Patty, Marcia, and Wendy.
