The Maine Mariners scored two second-period goals on their way to a 4-1 win over the Wheeling Nailers in an ECHL game Saturday at Cross Insurance Arena in Portland.
Maine, which lost 4-1 to Wheeling its season opener on Friday night, took a 1-0 lead in the first period when Jacob Hudson scored with 2:13 left. The Nailers tied it on a goal by Sam Houde early in the second, but Wyllum Deveaux restored the lead at 9:48. Mason Millman scored later in the second, and Evan Vierling got his second goal of the season in the third.
