Dorothy (Dee) Joaquin
FALMOUTH – Dorothy “Dottie” Joaquin, 77, passed away peacefully at home on Oct. 12, 2024, surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on Jan. 5, 1947, in Beverly, Mass., Dottie was the daughter of James D. Dee, Sr. and Winifred C. Mooney.
Dottie spent her childhood in Bangor, where she graduated from John Bapst High School. In December 1967, she married Antonio “Tony” Joaquin of Orono following his military service. This December would have marked their 57th wedding anniversary.
As their three children grew, Dottie began a long and successful career in the banking industry, from which she retired after more than 25 years of dedicated service.
In retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren, whom she adored. Known for showering them with love and affection, she also delighted them with her cooking, particularly her family’s cherished spaghetti dinners, desserts, and homemade bread.
In addition to her strong commitment to family and friends, she volunteered her time supporting her church and other community organizations.
Dottie was predeceased by her parents; brother, David Dee Jr. and his wife Donna; as well as several aunts and uncles.
She is survived by her loving husband, Tony; daughters Lisa Joaquin Harrison (Scott) and Ann Marie Rogers (Jim), son, Jeff Joaquin (Heidi); brothers Robert Dee (Patricia) and Tom Dee (Rebecca); as well as her cherished grandchildren, Margaret, Olivia (Michael), Kayla, Julia, Sophia, Danielle (Joe), James, Jessica, Josh (Alicia), Katelyn (Jeff); and her great-grandchildren, Zander, Alana, Lilli, Jaxon, Dawson, Abigail, Amelia, and Albin; and many nieces, nephews; cousins; and dear friends.
