Joan Mayo
CASCO – Joan Mayo, 91, passed away on Oct. 17, 2024 at Casco Inn, in Casco.
She was born on July 16, 1933, daughter of the late Leon F. Mayo and Kathleen M. Higgins. She grew up in Portland on Munjoy Hill and she was a graduate of Portland High School, Class of 1951.
She worked at Burnham & Morrill for several years. She then worked at J. Weston Walsh Publisher Company where she retired after 28 years of service.
She is survived by her sister, Nancy Baptista of Scarborough.
Her sister wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Casco Inn and Beacon Hospice for their wonderful care of Joan.
A private burial will be held at Forest City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Conroy-Tully Walker Funeral Home of South Portland.
