Running of the Brides 5K

Hunger activist Misty Coolidge of Coolidge Family Farm is bringing back her 5K which encourages people to participate while wearing a wedding dress. Dresses will be available at the event. The run, which takes place from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, benefits the Good Shepherd Food Bank.

The 3.2-mile loop starts and ends at Coolidge Family Farm, 1084 Lewiston Road. After the race, light finger foods, complimentary beverages, and snacks donated by local vendors will be served.

Delta Knights to perform

The Village Coffee House will showcase The Delta Knights, rocking together for more than two decades, on Saturday, Nov. 2. The show will start at 7 p.m. at the First Congregational Church Vestry, 19 Gloucester Hill Road.

Dance to the music led by founder Rob Babson, with Justin Maxwell on bass, Darren Whitney on sax, and Brian Hodgman on drums, this band features R&B, blues, classic rock and swing. Tickets cost $10 at the door, and refreshments will be available.

Spaghetti supper

The New Gloucester Republican Committee will host its annual spaghetti supper to benefit the local emergency heating assistance fund for New Gloucester residents. The dinner will be held at the First Congregational Church Vestry, 19 Gloucester Hill Road, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Nov. 16. The fee will be $10 per person at the door.

To contribute directly, checks payable to First Congregational Church can be mailed to: First Congregational Church, P.O. Box 114, New Gloucester, ME 04260. Write “Emergency Fuel Assistance Fund” on the check memo line.

Thanksgiving assistance

The charitable group GNG Caring Community is accepting applications for Thanksgiving assistance in the form of a meal. The organization helps residents in Gray and New Gloucester who are in need during the holidays. Proof of residency is required.

Call Christina Foster of GNG Caring Community at 207-233-0828 to assist with accessing and completing the Google form application. The deadline to submit an application is Nov. 10.
