Thanksgiving lunch

The Windham Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a Thanksgiving lunch on Thursday, Nov. 14, at the Town Hall gym from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. It will be a bountiful meal to share with friends, both old and new. The community lunch is sponsored by Age Friendly Windham and is open to anyone interested. The price for the meal is $10. Call Parks and Recreation at 892-1905 for more information.

“Shrek the Musical”

Windham High School presents “Shrek the Musical” with shows at 7 p.m. Nov. 15, 16, 22 and 23, and at 2 p.m. Nov. 17 and 24. The high school is located at 406 Gray Road. The production is directed by Rob Juergens with musical direction by Richard Nickerson and is choreographed by Vanessa Beyland. Tickets are $17 for adults, and $15 for seniors, students and children, sold at the door.

Holiday fair

The Windham Hill United Church of Christ is having its annual holiday fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at the church at 140 Windham Center Road. There will be a variety of items for sale including crafts, jams, jellies, baked goods and candy. Also for sale will be handcrafted gift items, used books and a table of attic treasures. Lunch will be served starting at 11 a.m. and will feature chowder, sandwiches and more. The church can be contacted at 892-4217.

Baked bean supper

The American Legion Field-Allen Post No. 148 will be hosting a bean supper on Nov. 16 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the Windham Veterans Center behind the Windham Hannaford in North Windham. There will be a variety of beans to choose from plus red hot dogs, side dishes, casseroles, coleslaw, potato salad and a large assortment of desserts. The cost is $10 per person with children under 12 eating for free.

Stuff the Bus

The Windham Lion’s Club is holding a Stuff the Bus food drive event on Saturday, Nov. 9, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Windham Hannaford. All nonperishable items donated will be given to the Windham Food Pantry for people in our community with food insecurity. Cash donations are used exclusively for the Lion’s Club’s Adopt-A-Family Christmas Program. The Hannaford is located at 797 Roosevelt Trail.
