
Hillary H. Johnson
KENNEBUNK – Hillary H. Johnson, 97 years, a resident of Kennebunk, and formerly of Brimfield, Mass., passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2024, at Seal Rock Healthcare after a lengthy illness.
Hillary was born on Dec. 31, 1926, to Arthur H. and Doris A. (Moore) Johnson. She was born in Longmeadow, Mass., a place where her ancestors had settled in 1640. Hillary graduated from Mount Holyoke College and obtained a master’s degree in art history from Smith College.
Her working career included teaching, lecturing, and a staff position at the George Walter Vincent Smith Museum. In addition to her professional career, Hillary also spent her time serving as a hospital volunteer training coordinator for 25 years.
She moved to Kennebunk in 2001, and while there belonged to the Seacoast Garden Club, the Kennebunk Land Trust, and the Animal Welfare Society.
Hillary is survived by several cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 13, at 10 a.m. at Bibber Memorial Chapel, 67 Summer St., Kennebunk, followed immediately by a reception at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held Thursday, Nov. 14, at 11 a.m. at Brimfield Cemetery in Brimfield, Mass.
