Renée Myhaver,

PORTLAND – Renée Myhaver, 40, of Portland, Maine, died peacefully at home on Nov. 8, 2024, of cancer. Born Dec. 18, 1983, in Portland, Renée was the daughter of Mark Myhaver and Michele McGeachey.

Renée graduated from Portland High School in 2002 and from Drew University in 2006. Renée was a beloved member of the Portland theatre community, working in the box office at Portland Stage for 17 years. Acting as the public face of Portland Stage as the assistant box office manager, she handed out thousands of tickets to patrons and was known for her incredible customer service skills and ability to solve any problems for patrons and staff alike.

Outside of her work, Renée was an avid crafter, known for her unique knitting, crochet, cross stitch, sewing, and embroidery projects. She loved stationery and drawing, and always had a preferred pen to use. Renée loved playing games, and was a part of a long-running tabletop role playing game with a group of beloved friends. She was a cherished member of the community and friend, known for her love of the people in her life.

Renée is survived by her platonic life partner Rebecca Caron; cats Spaghetti and Vivian; sibling Wesley Myhaver and wife Kate Herbert, sister Kara Myhaver and husband Joey Martinez, sister Marissa Carney; father Mark Myhaver; niblings Vera, Owen, Grace, Destiny, Nicholas, Brody, Laura, Ivan, and Hazel; and countless aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She was predeceased by her mother, Michele McGeachey; and cats Horatio and Spooky.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Portland Stage on Sunday, Nov. 17 at 5:00.
