Raoul Pelletier
PORTLAND – Raoul Pelletier, 74, passed away Feb. 13, 2025, at home in Portland, surrounded by family.
Known as “Ralph” to his family and friends, he was born and raised in Lewiston, the son of Raoul and Florentine Pelletier. He graduated from St Dominic High School and the University of Maine Orono and majored in Anthropology.
He was employed at L.L.Bean for 33 years. Ralph loved music, history, and family vacations at Disney World. Ever faithful to organic vegetable gardening, he looked forward to each new growing season, undeterred by woodchucks or bad weather. He was an exceptional chef who loved cooking for his entire family and the master of the grill at summer backyard gatherings.
Oh, the stories he told of growing up in Lewiston in the ’50s and ’60s!
Forever in our hearts, Ralph leaves his wife of 51 years, Janet (Romano); and also his sister, Suzanne Coulombe, of Sabattus.
Ralph’s eternal pride and joy will be his children; daughter, Sasha and her husband James Shunk, son, Ralph Pelletier; and grandchildren, Claire Shunk and Jacob Shunk, all of Portland.
