Windham students watch government in action

Eight members of the Windham High School Civil Rights Team and the “Can We?” Project spent the day in Augusta on Tuesday, Feb. 25. The trip was hosted by the League of Women Voters and gave the students a firsthand look at how government works. They were able to observe Chief Justice Valerie Stanfill deliver “The State of the Judiciary” address to state legislators in the House Chamber Gallery. Then they met and engaged with local Reps. Mark Cooper (House District 107), Barbara Bagshaw (House District 106) and Tim Nangle (Senate District 26), all of Windham, as well as Rolf Olsen (House District 86) from Raymond.
