Clyde L. Thomas

LONGBOAT KEY, Fla./Harpswell – With great sadness we announce the passing of Clyde Thomas on Feb. 27, 2025, at his home in Longboat Key, Fla., surrounded by his family.

Clyde had an incredible work ethic and a passion for technology. After high school he joined the Marines, where he gained expertise in computer science. Following his service, he built a highly successful career in technology and private equity industries, holding leadership roles at Gulf Oil, American Airlines, Wright Express, Clarion and Efunds. He finished his career working in private equity with Calera Capital and Advent Capital

Beyond his career, Clyde was a devoted family man. He raised three children on his own before meeting his soulmate, Mary Alice. Together, they built a great life. He cherished boating along the Maine coast, fishing trips with Paul, Norm and his sons. An avid fisherman Clyde found peace on the water. He was known for his generosity, sharp wit and the ability to tell a joke better than anyone.

Clyde accomplished so much in life – far too much to capture in one obituary. What mattered most to Clyde was his family and friends. He led by example, with honor, kindness and a unshakable sense of humor. His memory will live through the many lives he touched.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Alice; his children, Dylan wife Nattakan; Josh wife Tracie; Melanie husband Jeff; Zack; Greg wife Dielka; eight grandchildren; three great children, his brother Norman wife Nell. He was preceded by his parents, Norman and Genell Thomas, in-laws, Phil and Mary Egan.

A private family service will be held May 10, 2025.

The Walsh family is having an open house at their home 1-4 p.m. on May 31, 2025, 229 Foreside Road, Falmouth, ME, 04105.
