Ellen Bridgham
SCARBOROUGH – Ellen Bridgham, 84, of Scarborough, passed away peacefully at her home on March 10, 2025.
Born on April 25, 1940, she grew up in South Portland. She met the love of her life, Wayne, and they were married in 1963. After making stops from Hawaii to Machias while Wayne served in the Air Force, they settled in Cape Elizabeth to raise their family. During her time there, Ellen became very active in the Cape Elizabeth United Methodist Church, and the community in general. They then retired to a Scarborough senior community where she thrived. Ellen loved life and will be remembered for her vigor and wicked sense of humor.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Wayne, of Scarborough; sons Mark (with wife, Mary) of Ellsworth, Mitchell of Westbrook and daughter, Sheri (with husband, Dave) of Scarborough; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren which gave her immense joy.
The family will remember her in a private ceremony.
Condolences may be expressed online at http://www.hobbsfuneralhome.com.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her name to: St Jude’s Children’s Hospital or their local food pantry.

We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
For those stories that we do enable discussion, our system may hold up comments pending the approval of a moderator for several reasons, including possible violation of our guidelines. As the Maine Trust’s digital team reviews these comments, we ask for patience.
Comments are managed by our staff during regular business hours Monday through Friday and limited hours on Saturday and Sunday. Comments held for moderation outside of those hours may take longer to approve.
