Kristina Newton and Callie Pollet are new officers in the Westbrook Police Department.

The department introduced the new officers in an announcement online. Newton is from California where she was a public safety dispatcher before moving across the country to Maine. “She graduated from the police academy last year and has been serving with the South Portland Police Department prior to joining Westbrook,” the post said.

Pollet is also new to Maine, having just moved from Virginia, the post said. “In Virginia, she served as a police officer with the Fairfax County Police Department.”

Holiday art walk

This year’s Dana Warp Mill Holiday Art Walk and Market is set for 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 23, at 90 Bridge St.

Visit the historic mill and discover artists, makers and studios showcasing everything from beauty services to vintage clothing. Food trucks will be on hand this year.

Overflow parking is available at the downtown parking garage at 7 Vertical Way.

50 years ago

The American Journal reported on Nov. 18, 1975, that Ernest Knight, a Raymond selectman, was to present a program about a Westbrook Historical Society meeting that featured his town as it once appeared compared to a half century prior.
