Virginia “Ginny” Adele Small Billings
WINDHAM – Virginia “Ginny” Adele Small Billings, lovingly known as “GG” by her great-grandchildren, 86, went home to our Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2025. Born Jan. 18, 1939, to Clarence and Francis (Mayberry) Small, Virginia met the love of her life, Elliott “Bud” Richard Billings, and began what can only be described as an inspirational love story that started 65 years ago. Virginia and Bud were married in the beautiful autumn setting of Maine in 1961.
A lifelong Mainer, Virginia broke social expectations and norms as an independent woman who dedicated her life to serving others. Her devotion is reflected in her 34 years of service to the Southern Maine Agency on Aging, where an award in her name is given annually to a staff member who exemplifies the same dedication and compassion as Ginny.
She is predeceased by her parents, her brother Clarence “Buddy” Small, and her grandson Jonathan Billings. She is survived by her devoted husband; their son David (Faye) Billings; her grandson James (Megan) Billings; and her beloved great-grandchildren Hazel, Theodore, and Harvey.
A private memorial service will be held for close family.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
— Matthew 11:28
