Samuel “Ted” P. Brady

BIDDEFORD – Samuel “Ted” P. Brady, 87, of Granite Point, Biddeford, Maine, passed away peacefully on Dec. 1, 2025, at Maine Health in Biddeford.

Together, Ted and his wife Janice (McNeil) Brady raised two children, Scott Brady and Ruth Ann Lugar (married to Timothy Lugar). He was a devoted grandfather to Zachary Brady and he’s survived by his brother John Brady (married to Ellen Brady) of Cape Elizabeth.

Born on June 8, 1938, in Chelsea, Mass., Ted lived a full and adventurous life. He proudly served in the United States Coast Guard and later became a skilled helicopter pilot. With his lovely bride, Jan, by his side, Ted traveled across the country in their helicopter, embracing new experiences and creating countless memories during their 63 years of marriage.

Ted was a passionate entrepreneur and community builder. He owned The Courtyard in Saco, a hub for racquetball enthusiasts during the sport’s booming years, where he fostered friendships and brought people together. He founded NEBA (New England Business Association), providing access and support to health insurance for small business owners.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Ted cherished his time on Sebago Lake, lovingly referred to as On Golden Pond. His happiest moments were spent on his large porch, watching the westerly sunset with family and friends, reflecting on the past, the present, and the future.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Jan. 10, 2026, to honor Ted’s remarkable journey and the joy he brought to those around him. If you would like to join us, please contact Ruth at [email protected].

As Ted was notorious for saying “All that to say…”, you will be deeply missed Ted.

Dennett Craig and Pate Funeral Home, 365 Main Street, Saco are entrusted with his arrangements.
