Robert C. Walsh

CUMBERLAND FORESIDE – Robert C. Walsh of Cumberland Foreside passed away at the age of 87 on Dec. 23, 2025.

Bob was born in Watertown, Mass. on August 13, 1938. He was the son of the late William and Eileen Walsh. One of seven children, three of whom preceded him in death (Richard, William, Francis), he is survived by brother Jack Walsh and his wife June (Jennings) of Waltham, Mass., his sister Eileen McCrae and her husband Malcom of Billerica, Mass., and his brother Paul and his wife Rosemarie (Listro) of Watertown, Mass.

In 1961 he married his late wife Joan (Kelley) Walsh. They were married for 62 years. Joan passed away in November 2023. Bob and Joan had three children, Joseph and his wife Patricia (Anderson) of Scarborough, Miane, Michael of Cumberland Foreside, Maine, and Robert and his partner Paige Bladkya of Portland, Maine. Bob and Joan had three grandchildren they adored, Cole, Emma, and Myles Walsh.

Bob attended the St Patrick’s School System in Watertown, Mass. He graduated from high school in 1956. He played three varsity sports and was president of his senior class. He received a bachelor’s degree in finance and economics from St Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia in 1960 with honors. He then received an MBA from the University of Detroit in 1962 where he was a teaching fellow.

In 1962 Bob joined the Dewey and Almy division of W.R. Grace in Cambridge, Mass. as a financial analyst and spent 12 years in finance including as a division vice president of finance. He then moved to various general management positions and became the president of the construction materials division and a vice president of Grace. Following that he was promoted to Grace Senior Vice President of Operations in New York and Boca Raton, Fla. Bob retired after 31 years with W.R. Grace.

Bob and Joan resided in Massachusetts, Florida, Vermont and Maine.

Friends and family are invited to a time of visitation on Wednesday Jan. 7, 2026 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Lindquist Funeral Home, 1 Mayberry Lane in Yarmouth. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday Jan. 8, 2026 at 11 a.m. at Holy Martyrs Church, 266 Foreside Road in Falmouth. Bob will be laid to rest in Holy Cross Cemetery Yarmouth next to his dear wife Joan in the spring.
