Sharon A. Pizzo
SCARBOROUGH – On Feb. 7, 2026, Sharon A. Pizzo of Falmouth, passed away at the age of 77 with her family by her side. Sharon was born in Portland, on May 7, 1948, to Ralph Roberts and Eleanor Roberts (Sweeney). One of nine children, she attended Portland schools before meeting the love of her life, Joe. Together they built Portland Produce, a family-run fruit and produce business that spanned generations, all while raising nine children of their own.
A proud and loving mother, Sharon loved her family deeply and defended her children fiercely. She loved to frequent thrift stores and antique shops, collecting meaningful pieces at a bargain. She held a deep affection for spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and could often be found at the ballfield cheering them on with her beloved husband Joe.
To Sharon, food was love. Not a Sunday went by where you wouldn’t find a stock pot full of sauce bubbling on the stovetop on Congress Street – enough to feed an army – or nine kids and their friends. We will all remember her beautiful smile and caring heart, which shone brightest when she was surrounded by family and loved ones.
Sharon is survived by eight of her children, Jody Connolly and her husband Joe of Wesley Chapel, Florida, Joseph Pizzo III and his wife Terri of Portland, Anna Abate and her husband Tony of Boston, Sherry Pizzo-Derrig of Portland, Kathy Pizzo and her husband Terrence Naylon of Portland, Gina Pizzo and her longtime partner Michael Tarvers of Falmouth, Angela Duffy and her husband Sean of Cumberland, and Anthony Pizzo of Falmouth; 14 grandchildren and five great grandchildren; siblings, Ralph W. Roberts of Portland, Nancy St. Peter of Westbrook, James Roberts and his wife Vicky of Naples, Donna Brown and her husband Tom of Casco and David Roberts of Portland. Sharon was predeceased by her loving husband Joseph C. Pizzo Jr., her father Ralph and mother Eleanor, brothers, Edward Roberts and John Roberts and sister Jean Grimaldi, her beloved son Dominic Pizzo and granddaughters, Ashiley Meghan Connolly and MacKenzie Glo Pizzo.
