Jonathan “Johnny B” Louis Brett

PORTLAND – Jonathan “Johnny B” Louis Brett passed peacefully on Monday, Jan. 19, 2026, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Portland, on Feb. 28, 1962, he was the son of Florence Joan Holland and Ronald Brett.

Jon was a hard worker who took great pride in his floor installation work, always striving for excellence in everything he did. A giving soul, Jon often put the needs of others before his own. He loved telling jokes and making people laugh, and his sense of humor could brighten even the hardest days.

Johnny was predeceased by his mother, Florence Joan Holland and father, Ronald Brett; brother, Ronald Brett Jr. of Portland, and his sister, Rhonda Kevalis of Connecticut. He is survived by his brother, Peter Stackhouse of Florida; his sisters, Patricia Card of Florida, Debra Welch of Limington, Maine, and Dolores Barton of Albany Township; his daughters, Ashley McNeilly of Maine and Shelita Landry of Indiana; his stepchildren, Jessica Day and James Day of Delaware, and Shawn Day of Maine; and Carlene Pajanen, who shared a deep and lasting love with him.

Jon’s humor and unwavering generosity will continue to shine in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. He leaves behind a legacy of friendship, laughter, and love – forever carried in the memories of all who walked beside him through life.

Dennett Craig and Pate Funeral Home, 365 Main Street, Saco are entrusted with his arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jon’s memory to Preble Street, an organization that provides accessible, barrier-free services to empower people experiencing homelessness, housing instability, hunger, and poverty, and advocates for solutions to these challenges.
