John N. Hood
DAYTON – John N. Hood, 67, of River Road passed away Thursday, Feb. 12, 2026, at his residence with his daughters at his bedside after a battle with cancer.
He was born on March 4, 1958, in Biddeford, the son of Leslie and Janice Hood.
John attended local schools and graduated from Thornton Academy.
He was employed by Dayton Sand and Gravel for 36 years, retiring in 2016 to become a full-time farmer as the fourth generation to run Rocky Hill Farm.
He enjoyed spending his time in the hayfields, he also enjoyed tending to his herd of angus beef cattle. He loved spending time everyday with his children and grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his mother.
Survivors include his father Leslie Hood of Dayton; two daughters, Rebecca Cole of Dayton and husband Jon Hurley and Sarah Hood of Dayton and husband Caleb Smith; six sisters, Judy, Carol, Cheryl, Sandra, Linda and Debbie. His six grandchildren, Austin, Adam, Lexi, Devin, Owen and Evelyn and his beloved dog “Jack”.
