Donald D. Dow

FALMOUTH – Donald D. Dow, 83, passed away peacefully on Feb. 16, 2026.

Donnie was born on April 13, 1942 in Portland, Maine, to Millard and Marjorie Dow. He was a rapscallion as a youngster growing up in Lewiston-Auburn, pulling pranks and driving fast cars.

His family summered at Pine Point Beach where his fondest memories were formed. He attended Worcester Academy where he dabbled in martial arts as a hobby before following in his family tradition to become a stockbroker and investment advisor. His 22-year career was his true passion in life. He worked alongside his father for a time, then started his own business, Dow Investment Services. During this time he built his home and family and lived well. He especially enjoyed overnight boat trips on the “NYSE”, hunting and fishing expeditions and entertaining his children. Travel highlights were crossing the Arctic Circle in Iceland, flying to Honolulu, and driving to Bozeman, Mont. He belonged to the Masons and was a Shriner.

He had a great sense of personal style and always looked sharp from his perfectly coiffed hair down to the buckles on his shoes. Health issues led him to early retirement during which time he married the love of his life, Carol. For many years they resided in Falmouth enjoying the simple pleasures of Maine life, such as eating lobster rolls at Harraseeket Lunch and Lobster, exploring the coast and taking their golden retriever for walks. He also took great pleasure riding his tractor and making a perfectly green lawn.

Donnie was preceded in death by his parents; and his half-brother, Millard.

He is survived by his wife, Carol; sister, Tish; children, Eric, Don, Susan, Tracy, Tiffany, Doug, and Serena; stepchildren, Rusty and Tami; and grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff at SMMC and Gosnell House for their compassionate care.

Visiting hours, Feb. 28, from 1 to 3 p.m., Falmouth Congregational Church, 267 Falmouth Rd., Falmouth.
