SACO – Nancy Ann Mercier, 73, of Meserve Circle, passed away peacefully at her residence on Thursday, Feb. 26, 2026.
She was born in Saco on Aug. 31, 1952, the daughter of Victor Napoleon Blais and Doris Adams Blais. Nancy attended Saco schools and remained closely connected to the community she loved throughout her life.
Nancy was employed by Nike and later worked in medical records and as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). She was also employed by Stroudwater and the Maine Veterans’ Home in Scarborough. She was known for her strong work ethic and caring spirit, especially in her service to others through her healthcare work.
She enjoyed horseback riding, camping, and fishing—activities that reflected her love of the outdoors and the simple joys of life.
Nancy was a faithful member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church of Saco, where she found fellowship, purpose, and spiritual encouragement.
She is survived by her daughter, Jessica James of Saco; her son, Shawn Mercier of Corpus Christi, Texas; three brothers, Victor Blais, Bruce Blais, and Steven Lachance; three sisters, Linda Blais, Susan Ouellette, and Lisa Roy; and two beloved grandchildren, Aleyna and Ilayda.
A celebration of life service will be held on March 4 at 6:30 p.m. at the Seventh-day Adventist Church of Saco, 46 Cleveland Street, Saco, Maine 04072.
Arrangements are under the care of Dennett, Craig & Pate Funeral Home, 365 Main Street, Saco.
Scripture: “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” — John 14:1–3
Nancy will be remembered for her quiet strength, her love for her family, and her faithful spirit. Her life touched many, and though she will be deeply missed, we hold to the blessed hope of reunion and the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ. May her memory bring comfort, and may God’s peace sustain all who mourn her passing.
