Wesley James Barton
KENNEBUNK – Wesley James Barton, 92, of Kennebunk, passed away peacefully at home on March 5, 2026 surrounded by his loving family.
“Wes” was born on Jan. 27, 1934 in Portland, the son of James and Frances (Nevers) Barton. He grew up on Allen’s corner in the North Deering area and graduated from Deering High School, the year of 1952. In 1954, he married Flossie Kidder and raised their family in Cumberland. He worked for Union Mutual (UNUM), for over 25 years as a Systems Analyst.
Wes is survived by his daughter, Lori Barton and her husband, Bill Hickey, his sons and their wives James and Sandy, Chris and Lisa; nine grandchildren, Alex, Lindsey, Adam, Carolyn, Ashley, Elizabeth, Victoria, Erica and Carolyn; six great-grandchildren. He also left behind his sister, Mary Picavet; his nephew, Scott and his family.; also, his nieces Kim Campbell and Debbie Tamietti and their families.
He was predeceased by his parents James and Frances; his brother, Gene and brother-in-law, Kenneth Picavet.
The family thanks the Hospice of Southern Maine nurses and aides for their warm-hearted care and support.
