Kenneth E. Williams
ARUNDEL – Kenneth E. Williams, 83, of Arundel, passed away on Tuesday evening, March 17, 2026, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough, peacefully surrounded by his loving family.
Ken was born on Jan. 10, 1943, a son of Earl and Elizabeth (Janosco) Williams. He was raised in Lisbon Falls and was educated in the local school system, graduating from Lisbon Falls High School.
Ken was a man of integrity with a strong work ethic. During his early years he worked in the mills. He then worked as a mortgage and rent collector for a finance company. This position opened the door to Ken’s extensive career in banking. Starting at the ground level, Ken was an asset to several banks and credit unions throughout the years, ultimately retiring in 2013 as CEO for Infinity Credit Union (formerly Telco) where he led with integrity and resilience throughout his career. On July 28, 1990, Ken married the love of his life, Elizabeth (Chayer) Williams. The couple settled in Old Orchard Beach where they raised their children, and became an integral part of the community. Ken and Liz were parishioners of St. Margaret’s Church, where Ken donated many hours in service to the parish.
Some of the pastimes that Ken enjoyed included tending to his home and yard. Friends and neighbors would regularly see him riding his lawnmower, keeping his lawn in meticulous shape. Ken loved to golf, so much so that he transformed part of his lawn with a putting green, which he loved to use. He was proud to share the story of the time he got a hole-in-one at Sable Oaks. Ken found great joy spending time at the family camp on Sebago Lake. Nothing compared to the feeling he got from driving his boat across the lake. Most of all, he cherished every moment spent with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Ken is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Williams, of 35 years; by six children, Joseph Hamilton (Jessica), Michael Williams (Leah), Mary Williams, Katherine Philbrick (Paul), Timothy Williams, and Debbie Bassett; by three grandchildren, Ruby Hamilton, Isla Williams, and Milo Williams; as well as by many nieces and nephews. Ken is survived by his brother, Earl Williams Jr., and his sister, Betty Hutchins.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25, at St. Margaret’s Church, Old Orchard Beach. Burial will take place in the spring in St. Hyacinth’s Cemetery, Westbrook.
