Kavin William Moody
KENNEBUNKPORT – Kavin William Moody, 81, of Kennebunkport, Maine, passed away on March 30, 2026, after a courageous battle with Lewy Body Dementia.
Born in Tupper Lake, NY, Kavin was raised with a deep appreciation for learning and went on to earn both his undergraduate and master’s degrees from the State University of New York at Albany. He built a distinguished career in technology and business, holding executive roles at Corning Corporation, Andersen Consulting, Gillette Corporation and Bank Boston. Later in his career, he served as Director of the Center for Information Management Studies (CIMS) at Babson College, where he continued to share his knowledge and passion for innovation while also providing guidance to MBA students as a mentor and “executive in residence” helping to oversee and guide student projects until his retirement.
Kavin was known for his intellectual curiosity, adventurous spirit, and love of the world. He was an avid traveler who explored extensively, always eager to understand new cultures and experiences. Closer to home, he found great joy on the water—boating, striper fishing, and lobstering. Some of his most cherished moments were spent with his grandsons aboard the family boat, 3Generations, creating lasting memories together followed by a pint of good beer at “The Pub”.
Above all, Kavin was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 60 years, Virginia (Hermayer) Moody; his son, Mark Moody and his wife Kristen (Fairbanks) of Westford, Mass.; and his grandsons, Jacob and William Moody. He also leaves behind his sister, Cindy Fletcher of North Carolina; as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Kavin was predeceased by his parents, Rolland and Robena (Walsh) Moody and his brother, Walsh “Murph” Moody.
Relatives and friends are invited to Kavin’s Visitation on Friday morning, April 10, from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m at the Westford Healy Funeral Home, 57 N. Main Street, Westford, Mass. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in the Blessed Trinity Parish – St. Catherine of Alexandria Church, 107 N. Main Street, Westford, Mass. Cremation will follow.
