David Scott Barker
COVENTRY, R.I. – Our hearts are broken as we announce the passing of our cherished son, David Scott Barker, on March 15, 2026. He was born on Jan. 22, 1981 in Salem, Mass., a son to Scott and Rosa (Gonzalez) Barker.
David enjoyed gardening, photography, computer games and fishing with his parents.
He received degrees at Southern Maine Community College in Marine Biology (2002) and Computer Aided Design (2004).
David dealt with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy for most of his life with grace, dignity and resiliency. Loving, creative, thoughtful, and a life-long learner are what made David.
He is survived by his parents, Scott and Rosa Barker; his brother, Christopher Barker; family and friends.
We will miss his smiling face and tenacity. “He will raise you up on eagle’s wings, bear you on the breath of dawn, make you to shine like the sun and hold you in the palm of his hands.”
A private graveside burial will take place at the convenience of the family.
The family thanks you for your thoughts and prayers. Please visit http://www.chandlerfunerals.com.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make a donation in David’s memory to:
