A pair of Buxton Select Board incumbents are seeking reelection, but will have to fend off three challengers in a slate of candidates for elected town posts in the June 9 municipal election.
Board Chair David Field and Vice Chair Francis Pulsoni are facing Salvatore Demasi, Stephen Plympton and Beverly Young in the race for two, three-year seats on the five-member board.
Longtime Town Clerk John Myers is again running unopposed on the ballot for a three-year term. Planning board incumbent Roger Tracy is also unopposed for a three-year term and no one filed papers for a one-year seat on the board.
Incumbent Richard Fitzgerald is unchallenged with two openings available on the budget committee for three-year terms.
Nominations for the town’s elected posts closed at 4:30 p.m. on April 10.
Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on June 9 for the secret ballot election that will be conducted at Buxton Town Hall at 185 Portland Road. The polls also will be open for the state primaries, the Maine School Administrative District 6 (Bonny Eagle) budget validation referendum and the MSAD 6 school board election.
The annual town meeting is set for Saturday, June 13.
