An Old Orchard Beach woman was killed Monday in a head-on crash with a truck on Route 1 in Waldo County, police say.
Anne Pomroy, 77, was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck in Stockton Springs, Maine State Police spokesperson Shannon Moss said in a news release Tuesday morning.
A 42-year-old Belfast man who was driving a truck west along Route 1 crashed into Pomroy’s SUV as she was driving east just after 6 p.m. Monday, Moss said.
The truck driver was taken to a hospital with injuries that police said were not considered life-threatening.
The cause of the crash is under investigation. Moss asked that anyone with information about the wreck call Trooper Ryan Nadeau at 207-624-7076, ext. 9.
