Have you dreamed of writing about food but seek a little guidance? This summer, Maine food and cookbook writer Kathy Gunst is teaching two workshops in two gorgeous spots in Maine.
For her four-day retreat in Deer Isle in early June, she’ll be joined by literary agent and producer Leslie Jonath and cookbook and newsletter writer Domenica Marchetti. The retreat is focused on “Finding Voice and Getting Your Work Out Into the World.” “The workshops will provide a positive, non-judgmental space for open, honest and supportive feedback,” the organizers promise. Find details on domenicacooks.com.
From July 26 to Aug. 1, Gunst will teach a course on “Finding Voice: A Food and Memoir Writing Workshop” at Hewnoaks in Lovell. The retreat is designed “for anyone interested in food writing, whether you’re crafting essays, collecting family recipes, developing a newsletter, or working on a memoir.” Find details at hewnoaks.org.
The retreats range from $2,000 to $3,000, including all meals.
